Trauma-Sensitive LGBTQIA+ Ministry

Whether your Church has been Open and Affirming for decades or is attempting to navigate a recent change, working with the LGBTQIA+ community requires a level of intentionality that many Churches aren’t accustomed to. Many LGBTQIA+ individuals have been traumatized by Christians or Churches in the past, leading to distrust that must be addressed and worked through if ever a Church hopes to bridge the gap.

Through either training or personalized consultation, Rev. Dr. Vorenkamp will lead you through an understanding of LGBTQIA+ religious trauma, how the Bible guides us to handle these situations, and actionable ways in which any Church can improve their relationship with their LGBTQIA+ neighbors.

DEI Training for Churches

A commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion requires us to both understand those who differ from us but also to take a hard look at our existing policies, processes, and ways of being the Church. In many professional industries DEI Training is required periodically for this exact reason. As an organization seeking to reach out to and show God’s love to all people, regardless of Race, Ethnicity, Nation of Origin, Gender, Sexuality, Gender Identity, or any other identifier, such training is even more important for us.

With a broader focus than their Trauma-Sensitive LGBTQIA+ Ministry trainings, Rev. Dr. Vorenkamp will show through these trainings or personalized consultations how your church can better reach those who differ from you.
